CJCUC Joins IJCIR as Partner

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL—Ohr Torah Stone’s Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) in Efrat is pleased to announce that it is now a full partner of the Israel Jewish Council for Interreligious Relations (IJCIR) in Jerusalem. “I am grateful to IJCIR’s board members in accepting CJCUC and recognizing the unique contribution that our young organization has already made in the field of interreligious relations,” said CJCUC’s founder Chief Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, now a Deputy Chairman of IJCIR.
IJCIR has a seat on International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations (IJCIC), which has the official mandate to conduct Jewish-Christian relations and dialogue with the Vatican, the World Council of Churches, and Ecumenical Patriarchate which involves all the Orthodox churches.
IJCIR’s Chairman Chief Rabbi Mordechai Piron and Deputy Chairman Chief Rabbi Menachem HaCohen, welcomed CJCUC as its new partner. “CJCUC is the premiere Orthodox organization in Jewish-Christian relations. It is changing the status quo in interfaith dialogue. This partnership will be a catalyst in advancing Jewish-Christian relations in Israel and around the world,” they said.
